报告人简介：

Paul Chung，英国拉夫堡大学计算机系教授，发表文章200多篇，先后担任多个期刊的主编，主要研究
兴趣为计算机辅助工程、机器人任务分配、人工智能等多个领域。
本次报告的主要内容如下：
In the process, pharmaceutical, energy and manufacturing industries, due to demand,there 
is anincrease in production, scale of operation and automation. These advances bring economic
benefits,but how can we ensure that the design and operation of the plants are safe,as industrial
accidents can cause injuries, fatalities, loss of production, harm to the environmentand damage
to reputation.
   This talk will describe several of the innovative tools, developed by Prof Chung and his 
researchteam, for improving safety by automating design checks,identifying hazards and training
plant operators.These tools make use of a variety of computing techniques, including, rule-based
system,qualitative reasoning and virtual reality.
